Grant Smith Ellis is a disabled grassroots policy activist from Massachusetts. He serves as the Chairperson of the Board of the Massachusetts Cannabis Reform Coalition (MassCann), works as a legal intern for the non-partisan federal policy think tank Parabola Center, studies law at New England Law | Boston and covers developments in the cannabis industry on a freelance basis for DigBoston.

His talk will focus on legislative and regulatory efforts to center equity in the context of cannabis legalization, in particular as to how Massachusetts went about creating state-sponsored funding pathways for cannabis companies owned by members of communities that were harmed by the drug war.
